The weight of a fabric is inconsequential, since seasonal dressing is all about layering
George Kotsiopoulos
Just like an onion, an outfit should have layers. Layers within fashion can make your outfit go from basic to advanced with the use of addition clothing. When layering there really are no limits. It all depends on what look you are striving for with your fit. Some looks can focus on being bold, classy, or colourful. It all depends on the look you are attempting to achieve and the weather where you are going to be. For example, during the colder months layering can be adding additional long sleeve tops, t-shirts, and sweaters. In the fall and spring when the weather is inbetween warm and cold layering can just be an oversized baggy t-shirt with a long sleeve top underneath. Another fall/spring layering look could be a long sleeve top with a sweater or cardigan overtop of it. During the summer months, layering can involve sheer tops with t-shirts. For boys it can be t-shirts with tank tops.
Overall the secret to layering is using black and white tops with other coloured layers. The black and white layers will balance out the colours within other tops. The ultimate reason to use layers is to add depth within outfits. Having mutliple layers to your look will make your fit look elaborate and more interesting.
